What The Cooksta' has been upto
ABOUT DIAMOND JULEZ1/29/2021 I have always had a passion for music and entertainment and I know a lot of people who work in the music industry so it made sense to me that I could really do something in that area. One of my recording artist approached me about making a music video, we went through lengths and hurdles to try and get it produced but the pandemic issues got in the way. All our team was required to then do a training course online about covid awareness (which we all completed) and made sure that everything was done under the government guidelines, however at the final stages pre-production the country went into a full lockdown again and unfortunately the music video had to be postponed. I have been working with other recording artist in the mean time and getting productions lined up for the future without restrictions. Carla needed to concentrate on the final year of uni for her degree in Television production so we decided to kick back with the music side. I was lost for a while as I like to have a project to get my teeth into and with my ADHD I suffer if I stop for too long.

BEFORE Lockdown1/29/2021 During lockdown (number one in March 2020) I spent a lot of time networking and setting the the foundations. But before all that... Carla previously wrote a script called Brotherlidge, this was the first project we could get our teeth into. I did the art and design work for the graphic work for a provisional cover: I began to network which opened doors for us with film producers and established actors in the industry. Development stages are gradually coming together with celebrity names already* attached and locations provisionally interested. I struggle with reading especially scripts so I asked Carla to read but act out the characters that was in her script, we discovered this was an amazing way to do script readings in meetings . We meet a few people along this journey who became extremely interested especially when Carla used her acting skills in doing the reading of the script, it certainly set a good example with investors. At this point we are expanding our network so that we can get this project into production. Carla then had a great idea that she would reach out to a contact that she had met a few years prior, a world wide referee by the name of Ian-John Lewis, as himself and Mark Heffernan (Writer) had published Ian's Autobiography in 2013** and she was keen to find out if the was a way of us getting involved with the production side of things and they were more then happy for WIF&E to come on board with the project. I started networking on social media reaching out to all worldwide film related groups and it came to pass that we was approached by a production company in New Orleans...that’s when the intense work began ! We worked on a pitch deck, filmed the sizzler teaser trailer and interview with Ian-John Lewis and Mark Heffernan, all on NO BUDGET, the outcome was great! I spent hours and days working around the clock with researching and getting to know IJL personally . I was enjoying being a part in the production and learned so much on how film producing develops .
The pitch deck was finalised and ready in only 6 weeks, which I have heard it can normally take upto 6 months! I’m not surprised as we all become very obsessed and dedicated in completing this. We was able to get professional boxers* and actors interested in being apart of this project. The company in New Orleans didn't work out logistically so we moved on. We have to keep it moving (unless a contract is signed no point in hanging around) We are currently submitting to film fund institutions to enable to produce it under the WIF&E umbrella.
